Books & Educational Links
  1. New Books:
We use many resources to select books for our materials collection, including Publisher's Weekly, Library Journal, New York Times Book Review, BookPage, and Amazon. We also purchase extra copies of Book Page for our patrons to bring home. While we are closed due to Corona Virus, you can read BookPage online, using the link below. Let us know if there is a book or author you'd recommend for our collection!
  2. Overdrive for E-books & Audiobooks:
We use Overdrive as our platform for digital books. Click the link below for more information and a catalogue of digital books. We recommend using the "Libby" app, available free from your app store, for use on your tablet or smartphone. Free one-on-one help on getting started with Overdrive is available by appointment; just call the library!
  3. Rush Readers' Book Club:
For May we’ll be reading Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Free copies are available on Overdrive under the Duke Classics Collection. This will be a ZOOM Meeting Book Club! You must register with your email address. On the day of book club we will email you the link to join the Zoom meeting. Space is limited, please register in advance for May 28th or June 4th from 7-9:00 PM. Choose the date that works for you.
  4. Adopt-an-Author:
Select your favorite author from our list and make a $15 tax-deductible donation to the library when their next book is published. You will get to be the first patron to read it, bypassing any other holds! And we will create a book plate for it in your honor.
